Higher degree in international relations

 

Minimum requirement: the equivalent of ‘bac+3’ (~ equiv. to 3 years following UK ‘A’-levels / US ACT/High School Diploma) particularly following our Bachelor’s degree. The ILIERI Diplôme Supérieur / higher degree in international relations prepares for the specialisation of the Masters degree in International Security and Defence, the Masters degree in Strategic International Intelligence , IPM (international project manager) masters in Overseas International Co-operation, or MSc in International Business and Marketing.

 

 


Structure of the 1st year of the second cycle

The first year of the second cycle is a multidisciplinary course which covers all fields of international relations: international law, economics, international relations, geopolitics, political sciences, business administration, European and oriental languages.
In the 1st or 2nd semester, students have the option, if they wish, to follow their course at a partner university.

The writing and viva defence of an end of year research thesis is required for successful completion of the 1st year of the 2nd cycle. A professional placement of a minimum of 2 months in France or abroad is mandatory at the end of the year.

 

Thesis and placement

The writing and viva defence of an end of year research thesis is required for successful completion of the 1st year of the 2nd cycle. In addition to methodological courses and work with their thesis supervisor, students are required to deliver a 180 second presentation of their thesis proposal at the beginning of the year.
A professional placement of a minimum of 2 months in France or abroad is mandatory at the end of the year.

 

Semester spent abroad

In the 1st or 2nd semester of the 1st year of the second cycle (only in the 2nd semester for students in parallel admission), students can opt to follow a course of study with a partner university. A variety of specialist subjects are offered, depending on the destination university selected, with the requirement of obtaining 30 ECTS credits at the given host university. These credits are transferred to ILERI for confirmation of completion of the year.

 

Structure of the 2nd year of the second cycle

Once successful completion of the 1st year of the second cycle has been confirmed, students can join one of the Masters 2, RNCP level 1, or MSc courses offered by ILERI. These courses can be completed in block or day release mode (except for the MSc).
The Masters 2 in International Security and Defence provides training for students to become specialists capable of developing a global vision of international security issues.
The Masters 2 in International Strategic Intelligence is intended to train those who will be involved in the protection and use of data in France and internationally, in an economic intelligence context.
The IPM masters in Overseas Co-operation and Environment is designed to train future overseas / overseas territories leaders.
The MSc International Business and Marketing is designed to train international business specialists.
