IPM masters degree in Overseas and Environmental International Co-operation

A BAC+5 course, unique in France, for training high level specialists capable of initiating and supporting overseas territories international and ecological development.

With its overseas territories, France is the only nation in the world that is present in every major geostrategic basin, from the sub-Arctic to the Antarctic, from the Pacific to the Atlantic, from the polar to the tropical. The overseas territories number 2.7 million French people who are custodians of a vast terrestrial and maritime territory as well as 80% of national biodiversity.


The objective of this innovative BAC+5 qualification, which is unique in France, is to train future overseas economic, industrial, associative, and diplomatic leaders to support the State, public bodies, and local enterprises in making the overseas territories both showcases for ecological sustainable transition, as well as platforms for strategic planning for France in the world context.

 

This training also responds to the new and potential requirements generated by the EROM and Letchimy laws (2016), and the expectations raised at the Assises des Outre-Mer [Overseas Territories Conference] (2018).

 

The degree

ILERI offers a degree “IPM (International Project Manager) – Overseas and Environmental International Co-operation” enabling validation of the level I RCNP (*)“International Project Manager” qualification.
(*) RNCP: level I qualification (Fr) and level 7 (Eu) registered at the National Directory of Professional Certification (RNCP) by Decree dated 26 September 2016, published in the OJ on 4 October 2016), with RNCP Code 27097 – code NSF 310 – certifying body: APTIM.

 

It is intended to train students, professionals, and community leaders in techniques of analysis, development, negotiation, and international management in, related to, or from the overseas territories.

 

Students will acquire and extend skills applicable in private companies, State administrative bodies, international agencies and international bodies, regional and local authorities, consulting and auditing practices, or entities involved in the social and solidarity economy (associations, NGOs, etc…). Graduates primarily occupy roles in European and French overseas territories, but also in mainland France, in the European Union, or international organisations.

 

The Overseas and Environment IPM masters course can be studied in situ at our Paris La Défense campus, but also entirely online from any of the overseas territories, or from abroad.

 

Objectives of the course

  • Acquisition of the necessary skills for the creation and management of overseas projects, from an overseas territory and related to overseas territories.
  • Enhancement of the visibility of an organisation or territory and supporting its long-term development.
  • The ability to analyse geopolitical issues and being capable of adapting the activities of an organisation or the position of a public-law body.
  • Mastering European overseas relations and drawing up responses, and successful bids for projects.
  • The ability to engage and assist a territory in ecological and social transition.
  • Mastering the issues and specific details of each individual overseas territory to support private, associative and public entities.
  • Anticipating and controlling the expression of environmental, regulatory, social, and security risks.
  • Mastering the main techniques for the offensive use of information: influencing, lobbying, the conduct of negotiations, managing relations with elected representatives and investors.

 

The distance learning mode for the Overseas and Environment IPM masters course is delivered using the Adobe Connect platform. This learning solution enables students and teachers to access a range of tools directly or in replay, to host and share files, take part in assessments, all of which is possible from any computer terminal.
